ALLEN FRANKLIN YOUNG Peacefully on Wednesday, April 28, 2004, at the Lundar Personal Care Home, surrounded by the love of his family, our beloved dad, Allen Young, passed away at the age of 64 years. Al was born October 2, 1939 in Morden, MB. Growing up in Morden, he was involved in sports in the community, particularly hockey. His love for hockey was a lifelong passion, and an interest that he shared with his children. Al worked for P.F.R.A. in his early career, then moved on to Taubensee Construction in Winnipeg. In 1967, he began a career as a transmission lineman. Al worked on transmission lines across Canada and the United States, and loved his work Al loved animals, the outdoors, laughing and telling jokes, and spending time with his family. His grandsons were a tremendous joy to him. His sense of humour was a delight to everyone he met. He will be dearly missed. He is survived by his son Jason (Tracey) grandchildren, Brenden and Tanner of Lundar, MB; daughter Leanna (Michael) their mother Janet, all of San Antonio, TX; his sister Nancy (Ray) Boucha of Crystal Beach, ON; many nieces and nephews, as well as numerous friends and extended family. Al was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Elizabeth Young; and by his siblings, Joy, Walter, Jim, Beth, Isabel, George, Gordon, and Andy. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 4 at the Lundar Legion Hall with Pastor Bill Watson officiating. Interment to follow at the Lundar Municipal Cemetery. It is the familys wish that everyone in attendance be considered honorary pallbearers. The family wishes to thank the Lundar Personal Care Home for the outstanding, loving care that Al always received. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimers Society of Manitoba or the Lundar Personal Care Home Guild in Dads memory. "Death ends a life, not a relationship."
