IDA JOBB 1918 - 2004 Peacefully on Saturday, May 1, 2004, our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away after battling Alzheimers for many years. Ida, the fourth of 10 children, grew up in the Lydiatt area. She married Edward Jobb in May, 1938. They settled in Whitemouth, later moving to Golden Bay and then in 1947, settled in Dufresne, where they farmed until their retirement. Illness shortened their companionship and Ida lost her partner in 1983. Ida pursued her real passions for gardening, baking and crocheting. Her flowers were her pride and joy. She willing gave of herself. Ida was happiest when she could share her love of making perogies, lemon pies and various breads. Her art of crocheting is enjoyed by both family and friends. She always enjoyed Ostenfeld Lutheran Church fellowship and made sure she never attended empty handed. Mother is love. She demonstrated the necessary tools needed to enrich our lives and help us to deal with lifes obstacles. She provided knowledge and taught us how to pray. No longer being able to function at home in 1992 Ida moved on to Golden West Centennial Lodge. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Mildred, Dorothy, Richard, Helen, Herman, Ervin and Sharon; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her brother Arnie Stengel (Thelma) sisters-in-law, Edna and Ann Stengel; nieces, nephews and friends. Her family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff of Golden West Centennial Lodge, especially the "angels" on the second floor. Their loving care, compassion and support helped to make this journey an easier one for all of us. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 10-120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2, Golden West Centennial Lodge, 811 School Rd., Winnipeg, MB R2Y 0S8 or Ostenfeld Lutheran Church, Box 7, RR No. 1, Dufresne, MB R0A 0J0 in Moms memory. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 5, at 11:00 a.m. at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave. (entrance on Aubrey Street) with Pastor Carol Janke officiating. Viewing will take place at 10:30 a.m. Pallbearers are all of Idas grandchildren. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
