ELSIE HELEN BADIUK (nee Nykyforchyn) January 5, 1937 - May 7, 2004 It is with great sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Elsie Badiuk, beloved wife, mother sister and friend, at the Poseidon Care Centre on Friday May 7, 2004. Elsie was predeceased by her father Nicholas, 1974 and her mother Maria, 1992. Left to cherish her memory are her husband Bill of 45 years, two children, Nick (Calgary) and Eileen (Regina) brother John (Bernice) Nykyforchyn of Kamloops, B.C.; sisters, Margaret Wolfe (Winnipeg) and Nell Chobotar (Martin) of Vita, MB; and numerous other family and friends. Elsie will be remembered for her love of family, gardening, cooking, sewing and travelling with her husband Bill. She will also be remembered for her compassionate, generous nature and wonderful sense of humour. A funeral service will be held Wednesday May 13 at 2:00 p.m. in the Green Acres Funeral Chapel, Hwy No. 1 East, at Navin Road. Interment will follow at Green Acres Memorial Gardens. With Father Michael Krochak officiating. The family would like to express their thanks to the Poseidon Care Centre, the Palliative Care Unit at Riverview, and Cancer Care Manitoba for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Elsie?s memory to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
