CLAUDE "TED" MASON After a courageous battle with cancer, Ted Mason, aged 81 passed away on May 1, 2004 at St. Boniface Hospital. He was predeceased by his wife Virginie in 1978 and his brother Ivor of England. He will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Jane (Rene) Cyr and Doreen Mullen (Larry Pruden) grandchildren, Adam and Briana Cyr; brothers, Ralph (Mona) and their daughter Gaynor and Gordon (Cynthia) of England; sisters, Vi (Brian) Thatcher and Rose Gibb of England and sisters-in-law, Vi Nick and Nancy Mason of England. Ted came from England in 1947 and met his future wife Virginie in Winnipeg. They married in 1948 and settled in Winnipeg. Ted and Virginie were long time owners of Golds Corner, of which their customers were all friends. Ted enjoyed fishing and spending time at his cottage at White Mud Falls. He was an exceptional man and there is no one quite like him. He will be sadly missed. The family would like to extend sincere thanks to the Doctors, nurses and staff at the St. Boniface Hospital, for the care shown to our Dad. Memorial service will be held at 12:30 p.m., on Wednesday, May 5, at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Interment and reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, should friends so desire, please make a donation in Teds memory to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave. Winnipeg R3E 0V9.
