EDWARD RUSSELL SMITH Edward Smith aged 52, passed away on April 30, 2004 at the Health Sciences Centre. Ed will be lovingly remembered by his wife Jean; step-children, Shawn (Lise), and their children, Evan and Meagan; Stacey (Tanis) and their children, Carson and Taylor; Dean (Trish) and Deans children, Jamey and Robyn; and Penny and her children, Mandel, Jessica, Bennett, Broderick and Vaughan; his sisters, Barb (Lloyd) Graves and Betty (Al) Lindsay; father-in-law Dean Swift and special family friend Dorothy Youd. Ed began his working career at age 16 as a Transport Driver, travelling throughout North America. His last several years spent on the road, were with Jean "Woffie", they travelled happily together all across Canada. Ed fell ill in February 2004 and after a brief recovery he succumbed to his illness. Memorial service for Ed will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 6, at the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Interment will follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations in Eds memory may be made to the Canadian Liver Foundation, Manitoba Division , P.O. Box 1943, Winnipeg, MB R3C 3R2.
