OLIVE GRANDMONT (nee MILLAR) Peacefully on Sunday, May 2, 2004, at Riverview Health Centre, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away at the age of 80 years. Leaving to forever cherish Olives memory are her husband Maurice; two daughters, Denise and Lisa (Dennis) three sons, Raymond, Wayne and Roger (Carrie) three grandchildren, Renee, Christie and Cory; two great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Richard. Olive is also survived by her four sisters, Arla Campbell (Louis) of Harperville, MB, Grace Appleyard of Oak Point, MB, Alice Morrison (Allan) of Stonewall, MB and Bernice Johnson (Gerry) of St. Laurent, MB; three brothers, Angus, Raymond (Patsy) and Bob (Marlene) all of Oak Point. She was predeceased by her parents James and Agnes Millar and brother Arnold. Olive was born in Harperville on April 13, 1924. She attended Bluff Island School and moved to Winnipeg when she was 16 years old. She met Maurice in 1950 and they were married two years later and raised five children together. We will always remember Olives heart-warming smile, the courage she portrayed and her gentle nature. LOVING MEMORIES Your gentle face and patient smile With sadness we recall You had a kindly word for each And died beloved by all. The voice is mute and stilled the heart, That loved us well and true, Ah, bitter was the trial to part From one so good as you. You are not forgotten loved one Nor will you ever be, As long as life and memory last We will remember thee. We miss you now, our hearts are sore, As time goes by we miss you more, Your loving smile, your gentle face, No one can fill your vacant place. The family would like to extend their heart-felt thanks to the staff at Riverview Health Centre for their loving care and support. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Olives life will take place on Thursday, May 6 at 1:00 p.m. in the P. Coutu Funeral Chapel, 156 Marion St. Interment will follow in St. Boniface Cemetery, 917 Archibald St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Arthritis Society, 105 - 386 Broadway Ave., R3C 3R6 or Canadian Diabetes Association, 102 - 310 Broadway Ave., R3C 0S6.
