ELSIE PANCOE (nee HAGGLUND) May 31, 1919 - May 1, 2004 Died peacefully at St. Boniface Hospital. Elsie was predeceased by her husband Albert (Bert) in 2000 and by her son Douglas in 1997. She will be missed by her sons, Glen (Denise), Dale (Bev) daughter Karen (Larry) daughter-in-law Marie; grandchildren, David, Christopher, Colette (Ryan), Michael; Justin, Jaret, Jodie; Shannon, Bobby, Daniel, Stephanie; great-grandchildren, Bailey and Madison. She will also be missed by many dear cousins and friends. Elsie was born in Teulon, MB, only child of Albin and Isa. She grew up and attended school in Teulon and Winnipeg, spending many wonderful holidays on her grandparents farm in Teulon. She married Bert in 1943 when they moved to Ottawa until after the Second World War, and then returned to Winnipeg where they settled and raised their four children. Elsie loved her children and her role as mother. She lived her faith through her love, kindness, compassion towards others and her wonderful sense of humour. She was a very patient, gentle soul. Elsies love of sewing led her into self-employment as a seamstress. Many of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were also recipients of her knitting endeavours. Her favourite passion was animals and she surrounded herself over the years with many pets. For years she volunteered her time at St. Boniface Hospital receiving an award for her services. The family would like to thank Dr. S. Kredentser and the staff of 6AS at St. Boniface Hospital, the staff and fellow residents at Catherine Place where she enjoyed the last years of her life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of choice or the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent Rd., Winnipeg, MB R2L 9Z9. We invite relatives and friends to celebrate Elsies life with us on Wednesday, May 5 at 11:00 a.m. at Green Acres on Hwy. No. 1 E at Navin Road.
