Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFIRMIN CLEMENT (CLEM) GUY RIEU It is with great sadness the family announces the sudden, but peaceful, passing of Clement Rieu on Sunday, May 2, 2004 at the age of 73 years. Clem passed away at the place he loved the most, his home, with his family by his side. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Florence, of 52 years; his son Raymond, daughter-in-law Janice, grandchildren, Nicole and Derek; brother Joe and wife Lillian of Alberta, special friends, Alice and Wally; pussycat Brandy and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Firmin and Cecilia; sisters, Leona, Maria and Rose. Clem was born May 23, 1930 in Ericksdale, MB. He worked at the C.N.R. for 25 years, retiring in 1992. In his younger years, Clem was an avid hunter, but his greatest pride was his garden. He loved to boast that he had planted his early and he was eating red tomatoes when everyone elses were still green. Clem loved music and dancing and as his eyesight failed, he loved to sit and listen to music. It gave him hours of enjoyment. Clem was a member of the Pioneer Seniors Centre and Weston Legion #2. You could find him there many times playing crib and winning many tournaments. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 6 at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave., Aubrey Street entrance. Interment at Brookside Cemetery. The family wishes to express their gratitude to first responders, ambulance and police for their prompt and excellent care. Flowers gratefully declined. A donation can be made in Clems name to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 102 - 310 Broadway, R3C 0S6. We have seen your strength, like an oak in the storm... We have felt gentleness, like a golden summer dawn... We have heard laughter, like a splashing waterfall... We have felt protection, like a shelter all around...
