MURIEL IRENE DUNCAN (PEGGY) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, sister and friend on Sunday, May 2, 2004 at Riverview Health Centre at the age of 73 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Deb, Sherry (Aldo), Denise, Tim, Danny (Nadine), and Peggy (Randy). Nan will also be missed by her nine grandchildren and her two great-grandchildren. She leaves to mourn her loss her sisters, Cora Milne (Ottawa), Elsie (Greg) Garnett, Lois Jones and Hazel Burgess, all of Saint John. Peggy will be missed by all her friends, especially Suzanne whom she knew for over 30 years. Mom was predeceased by her loving husband Raymond (January 14, 1999), her daughter Linda (September 30, 2002), her mother Jen and father George Burger. Peggy was born in Saint John, NB on July 31, 1930. She later met her husband Raymond and travelled with the military family for over 20 years living as far away as Germany before finally settling in Winnipeg in 1963. Mom was proud of her family, enjoying visiting with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved spending time with her "ray of sunshine", Cordelia and the most recent addition Noah. She always had time for those in need. Whether it was one of her children, childrens friends or stray animals, Mom took them all in. She was also a foster parent for three World Vision children and sponsored 16 children through the Leprosy Mission. Mom loved her flower garden and the outdoors. She also loved animals having many pets throughout the years. Mom recently developed a fondness of horses and enjoyed feeding them apples at the racetrack. Service of remembrance will be held on Wednesday, May 5 at 2:00 p.m. in Green Acres Funeral Chapel, Hwy. No. 1 E. at Navin Road. The service will conclude at the Chapel. The family would like to thank the staff at the Victoria Hospital and Manitoba CancerCare. A special thank you to the staff at the Riverview Health Centre No. 3E Wing, for their compassion and wonderful care of Mom and her family during this very difficult time. We would also like to thank Dr. Kylm for her support throughout Moms illness. You were always able to give Mom the medical assistance she required without delay and for that we are grateful. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent St., Winnipeg, MB R2L 1X3 or to Manitoba CancerCare, ON109-675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. God looked around His garden, And found an empty space. He then looked down upon the earth and saw your tired face. He put his arms around you, and lifted you to rest, Gods garden must be beautiful He only takes the best. He knew that you were suffering, He knew that you were in pain, He knew that you might never Get well upon this earth again. He knew the road was getting rough And the hills were too hard to climb. So He closed your wary eyelids and whispered, "Peace be thine" It broke our hearts to lose you, But you did not go alone, For part of us went with you The day God called you home. "Forever in our Hearts" GREEN ACRES Funeral Home, Cemetery and Crematorium Hwy. No. 1 E. at Navin, 222-3241
