ERNEST FRIEDRICH "WILHELM" JAEKEL 1926 - 2004 With great sadness, on May 1, 2004, we lost our beloved Father / Opa. After many years of illness, and the recent loss of his beloved wife Hertha of 53 years who passed away on April 28, 2004, he left us quietly. Wilhelm was born in Germany on June 19, 1926 and came to Canada in 1955, where he worked diligently so that he might be re-united with his wife and daughter, who were still in Germany. Wilhelm was an only child and family meant everything to him. His greatest love was for his children and grandchildren. He was always concerned with their well-being, and could always be called upon when needed. Wilhelm is survived by his daughter Doris Jaekel, his son Harold Jaekel, daughter-in-law Lorelei Jaekel and by his grandchildren, Elizabeth and Mathew Jaekel. Once again, he will be re-united with his wife, where they will walk hand in hand in peace and joy in the presence of God, where they will be waiting for us to have our family joined together again. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 6 at 11:00 a.m. at Concordia Place Chapel, 1000 Molson Street in Winnipeg, MB. Chaplain John Friesen will preside over the services.
