AURORA VICTORIA BRYANS After a long and full life, Aurora Victoria Bryans (Samson), age 93, died peacefully on May 4, 2004 with her devoted son, Michael, by her side. She is survived by her loving sons, Michael and Fred; daughter-in-law Penny; grandchildren, Matthew and Mark Metcalfe, and Margaret and John Bryans. She also leaves to remember her, sister-in-law Mary Eisner and Loraine Mouflier and family. She was predeceased by her husband, Reg Bryans, and daughter Patricia Metcalfe. Aurora, known as Toots by family and friends, was the youngest of seven children. She was proud of her Icelandic heritage and was once Icelandic princess. She told many stories of her familys strength and determination, qualities she also possessed. But she also had a sense of fun and could be full of mischief. As a young woman, Toots and her friends took the Moonlight train to Grand Beach and cut it up at the dance hall. Later, she enjoyed many years with her family at Victoria Beach providing a weekend away for family friends, playing cards, and solving crossword puzzle. Toots collected elephants and graciously thanked the giver for a new addition, even though the shelves were already full to brimming. Toots enjoyed working for many years at Supercrete, retiring at age 69. The family would like to give special thanks to Karen and Shirley for their kindness and care of mother during her last years. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 200 - 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6, in memory of Mother would be appreciated. A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 7, 2004 at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave. (entrance on Aubrey Street) at 10:00 a.m. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200

  • I started exploring my relatives just recently and many memories have reappeared to me. I remember my mother, Lucy Ruth Samson and 'Toots'. Sorry this is so late. - Posted by: Stanley Samson (Nephew, son of Herbert Stanley Samson, her brother.) on: Jul 14, 2014
