ANTONIO FAZIO Mr. Antonio Fazio of Brandon passed away peacefully at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Monday, May 3, 2004. Tony was born at Torano Costello, Italy on July 13, 1915. He came to Canada in 1951, building a home for his family who arrived later 1954. Tony immigrated to Canada with some close friends, and together they worked for the C.P.R. He later bought a house in Brandon when he was stationed in Chater. He left the railway and worked with Cancade Brothers until his retirement. Tony had many interests, but he was especially well known for his winemaking abilities. People could not leave his home without having a glass of wine with him. He later joined a lawn bowling league where he gained many more new friends. Tony is survived by his sister Ida Perrelli (Aldo) five children, Maria (late Mario Adamo), Dina (late Nick Auriti), Frank (Karen), Maggie (Gary Somerville) and John (Judy) grandchildren, Peter Adamo (Liz), Pina Boles (Shane), Marco Auriti (Cynthia), Angelo Auriti (Leila), Angela Kohan (Mark), Cristina Metelski (Mike), Paul Fazio (Melanie) and Krista Fazio; and eight great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Annita; sons-in-law, Mario Adamo and Nick Auriti, four sisters and two brothers in Italy. Prayers will be held at the Brockie Donovan Chapel, 332 - 8th Street, Brandon on Wednesday, May 5 at 7:00 p.m. with Deacon John MacKenzie officiating. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Augustines Roman Catholic Church, 327 - 4th Street, Brandon on Thursday, May 6 at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Eric Giddins as Celebrant. Interment will follow in the Brandon Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Peter Adamo, Marco Auriti, Francesco Adamo, Paul Fazio, Mark Kohan and Rodolfo Di Muro. Honorary pallbearers will be Gordon McInnis, Ken Fox and Peter Petrillo. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Tony may be made to a charity of choice.
