EDITH (EDIE) SUTHERLAND On Sunday, May 2, 2004, Edie Sutherland, late of Thompson Drive, Winnipeg, passed peacefully. Edie was a lifelong resident of Winnipeg. She was predeceased by her husband Lorne in 1978; parents Joseph and Margaret Dawson; and her sister Margaret (Peg) Melton. She will be loved in memories by several nephews and nieces; as well as by many friends and neighbours. She will be sadly missed by special friends, Pauline (Art) Hammersley and Vi Aveson who often visited with her. Aunt Edie enjoyed gardening, and her flower and vegetable gardens were her pride and joy. Thanks to the staff at Oakview Nursing Home and Golden West Centennial Lodge for their care and support for Edie during her times there. At Edies request, cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held on Friday, May 7 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Ave. For those wishing to attend the service, please meet at the cemetery gates.
