Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHAROLD MONTGOMERY ELLIS Harold Montgomery Ellis passed into the presence of his Lord and Saviour on May 4, 2004 after a brief hospitalization at Kelowna General Hospital. He was in his 89th year. Survived by his loving family: wife Anne; daughter Beverly Ellis of Vancouver; son Greg Ellis of Winnipeg; granddaughters, Carla and Vanessa Ellis of Calgary; grandson Chris Miller of Winnipeg; brother Bill of Winnipeg and sister Lenore (Benson) of Deerfield, IL. He will be deeply missed by a myriad of friends and colleagues across Canada. Harold was born on January 2, 1915 in Winnipeg, MB. He was the second child of William and Mabel Ellis and spent his growing up years in Winnipeg. His management position with Building Products of Canada saw him travelling regularly across Canada making numerous friends and contacts. His first wife Jean (Thompson) passed away in 1978. He married Anne in 1980 and celebrated 24 years of happiness together wintering in Indio, CA for many years, before settling year round in Kelowna. Harold will be remembered by many as an active churchman. He was part of Grant Memorial Baptist Church in Winnipeg, as well as Elim Chapel. In Kelowna, he was part of Trinity Baptist Church. He was also active in promoting and helping the cause of world missions by assisting many mission agencies and missionaries. Besides his spiritual convictions, Harold was an active participant in the Reform Party of Canada (now the Conservative Party of Canada). The family is deeply appreciative of the care and attention provided to Harold during his stay in the Kelowna General Hospital. He was a bright light to everyone he met and will be deeply missed for his jovial spirit, kind words and deep interest in their lives. Visitation will be on Saturday, May 8 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Everden Rust Funeral Services, 1910 Windsor Rd., Kelowna (Just off Spall near Hwy 97). A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 10 at 2:00 p.m. from Trinity Baptist Church, 1905 Springfield Rd., Kelowna. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Gideons of Canada or the Heart and Stroke Foundation, would be appreciated. "Blessed are they who die in the Lord, for they will find rest from their labours."
