JOHN (JACK) RICHARD EVANS John (Jack) Richard Evans died on April 18, 2004 at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Centre as a result of injuries suffered in an automobile accident. Jack was born in Carman, MB on November 5, 1916. His education years were spent in Carman and Winnipeg. He began a career with the Royal Bank and was transferred to Fort William, ON. He joined the RCAF in 1941 and served as a Navigator Bombardier in Canada, Great Britain and Russia. After discharge in 1946 he married Elizabeth (Betty) Butcher from Carman and they returned to Fort William to make their home. They raised four children, Wendy, Nelson, BC, Margaret (Brian), White Rock, BC, Jennifer of Calgary and Todd (Jane) of Thunder Bay. There are five grandchildren, Krista and Evan Cooke and Kate, Sydney and Tessa Evans. Jack is survived by a brother Glen in Ottawa. Jack was a man of wide interests and will always be remembered for his devotion to family, community and country. A celebration of Jacks life was held April 22 at St. Pauls Anglican Church in Thunder Bay.
