ERNST ROHDE Peacefully on May 5, 2004 with family members at his side, Ernst went home to be with his Lord and Savior. Ernst was born on October 23, 1925, in Lawdt, East Prussia to Franz and Berta Rohde. He was predeceased by his parents and sister Gertrud. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Martha; son Harry (Donalda) Rohde; Angie (Doug) Friesen; grandchildren, Bryan, Sarah, Leah, Emily and Rachel; brother Kurt (Edith) of Uslar, Germany. He will also be sadly missed by numerous friends and relatives. On August 15, 1959 he married Martha in Winnipeg, MB. Later that year he committed his life to God by accepting Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and was baptized on December 31, 1959 at Mission Baptist Church. Ernst accepted a position as caretaker at the University of Manitoba in 1964, where he worked until he retired in 1990. One of Ernsts favourite pastimes was camping and fishing with family and friends. After he retired he also enjoyed winter vacations to Miami Beach. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 10 at 11:00 a.m. at Mission Baptist Church, 771 Sargent Ave. Pastor Wayne Eisbrenner officiating with interment to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. Viewing prior to service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ernsts memory to Lake Nutimik Baptist Camp, P.O. Box 68, Seven Sisters, MB R0E 1Y0.
