THEODOR WIENS January 12, 1921 Encircled by his familys love, Theodor Wiens passed away May 5, 2004 after a lengthy illness. Ted was born in Russia in 1921, and came to Canada in 1925 with his family and they settled in the Osborne, MB area. He worked for the federal government in the departments of transportation and communication. He travelled extensively first for work and later for pleasure and grew to love the Yukon. Ted and Hilda celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary this past year. He will be lovingly remembered by Hilda and his seven children, Joanne (Rick) Friesen residing in Texas, Kathy (Gord) Maconnell, John (Kathy) Wiens, Debbie (Ken) Keating residing in New Jersey, Dan (Wilma) Wiens, Linda (Stephen) Murphy, Barb (Daryl) Dyck; as well is lovingly remembered by his sister Margaret; his brother Bernie (Ruth) sister-in-law Irene; 20 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, John B. Wiens and Margaret (nee Wilms) his brothers, Ernie, John and Henry. Sincere thanks to Pastor Ed Hamm and to Pastor H.H. Barber. Donations may be made to the Canadian Food Grains Bank,400-280 Smith, R3C 1K2. Also thanks to the Meadowood Manor staff who worked at making his last days more comfortable. The funeral service will be held at Calvary Temple - Buntaine Chapel, 400 Hargrave St. on Monday, May 10 at 10:30 a.m. with interment to follow in the La Salle Cemetery. Viewing will be held Sunday, May 9 between 7:00 and 8:00 p.m. at Klassen Funeral Chapel. Ted will be remembered for his keen sense of humour and quick wit.
