MARGARET HENRIETTA GRAY ASHLEY 1910 - 2004 On Thursday, April 1, 2004 in Toronto, ON, Margaret Ashley, elder daughter of the late Aubrey Victor and Mary Emma Ashley, passed away at the age of 93 years. Margaret achieved a degree in Library Sciences from McGill University but lived her whole life in Winnipeg. At retirement, she was the assistant chief librarian at the Manitoba Legislature Library. She was known for her lifelong interest in books and gardening, love of cats, and her generous support of many charities, including the Humane Society. Margaret will be lovingly remembered by her nephew Robert, his wife Susan and their children; her niece Jane Ashley Willard; cousins, Laurence Smith and his wife Frances, their son Paul and his wife Valerie; and cousins, Thora Smith and her daughters, Pamela and her husband Garry and Deborah and her husband Kendall. Margaret was predeceased by her sister Laura and her brother Robert. In compliance with Margarets wishes a private graveside service will take place at St. Johns Cathedral Cemetery, with burial in the family plot. The Rev. W. Gordon Shields to officiate. No flowers.
