GERTRUDE F. HANCOX Daughter of the late Fan and Len Hancox, Gertrude passed away on Wednesday, May 5, 2004, leaving her sister Connie as sole survivor. After working for the government in Ottawa, Dayton and Montreal during the war, she then joined the staff of Price Waterhouse in Montreal in 1944 where she enjoyed a successful career until her retirement in 1976 when she returned to Winnipeg to share the family home with her sister. Together they pursued hobbies, bowled, gardened, did volunteer work and travelled extensively, particularly enjoying winter vacations in Maui. Her compassionate interest in others endeared her to many. She will be sadly missed by numerous loving cousins and her dear and caring friends. Grateful thanks to the fine staff at Poseidon Care Centre whose compassionate help eased her last few weeks. Her request for cremation with no memorial service is being honoured.
