IRENE SABATINI 1917 - 2004 It is with great sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Irene Sabatini on May 10, 2004 with her family at her side. She was predeceased by her loving husband Alexander. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Bruce (Diana), Marie (Sid) and Lynne (Larry). She will be especially missed by her grandchildren, Sergio (Kerri), Andrea, Jared, Rochelle, Kim and Sean. Irene was born in Durham, England. During The Second World War she was a sergeant with the Womens Auxiliary Airforce of the RAF and base commander of a balloon site in London. While travelling home on leave, she was offered a seat on the train by a Canadian soldier and the rest is a love story. Irene had been living on the Alzheimers ward at the Deer Lodge Centre for the past ten years. We would like to thank the incredible staff of the T3 unit for the exceptional care and kindness they showed to our mother and grandmother. Should friends so desire, donations may be made in lieu of flowers to Alzheimer Manitoba, 205 Edmonton St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 1R4; or Deer Lodge Centre, 2109 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3J 0L3. Funeral service will take place May 12 1:00 p.m. at the Deer Lodge Chapel, 2nd floor, 2109 Portage Ave., St James. Parking is available in the east lot.
