WILLIAM (BILL) SOROKOWSKI 1918-2004 It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of William (Bill) on Tuesday, May 11, 2004 at Arborg Hospital, at the age of 85 years. Dad was born on May 30, 1918 in Meleb, MB, moved to Arnes, then later to Rembrandt, MB, where he farmed and worked at the Gimli Air Base till his retirement in 1983. He was predeceased by his wife in 1990. His sisters Pauline, Theresa and brother Ludwig. He is survived by four sons and three daughters, Edward (Rose) Albert (Georgina) Victor (Heather) Jerry (Donna) Minnie (Dean) Judy (Ron) Vicky (Ron) and 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters Jessie Bateman and Katie (Bill) Mudry. We would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Arborg Personal Care Home, where he resided for 10 years, the doctors and staff at the hospital for their excellent care and support during his stay there. Also a very special thanks to Tom Yuswak for his regular friendly visits with Dad and a special thanks to Georgina Sorokowski for her special care of Dad at the Personal Care Home and also at the hospital. Prayers will be held on Friday, May 14 at 7:00 p.m. at the Arborg (MacKenzie) Funeral Chapel. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 15 at 10:00 a.m. at the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, Meleb, MB, Fr. Peter Chorney officiating. Interment will be in the Meleb Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeff, Wendell, Thomas, Daniel, Brent Sorokowski, Jessie Serverse. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tom Yuswak, Georgina Sorokowski, Stan Zolinski and Ken Phillipchuk. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Arborg Personal Care Home or a charity of ones choice. VICHNAYA PAMYAT Arborg (Mackenzie) Funeral Home, in care of arrangements.
