I never met Katherine, but as a young girl who used to speedskate in the same club as her son Brian, I came to know the kindness of her husband Arthur. One terribly cold afternoon at a weekend skating meet at the Sargeant Park oval, I collapsed on the ice. Mr. Horsfall carried me back to the clubhouse and contacted my parents. At the time, I had no idea he was such a wonderful artist and I can only imagine Katherine was a very special person, too. - Posted by: Isobel Waters (Acquaintance ) on: Sep 28, 2023

I have fond memories of Kay from my Winnipeg days when I worked at the WAG, and dnaced with the Contemporary dancers. Arts abstract painting of the dancers still hangs above my bed. I believe Brian was a young teen at that time. Today Kay would have been 99 had she lived. - Posted by: Carolanne Steinebach (friend) on: Dec 25, 2021
