HELEN BROMWELL (WELLS)
Date of Passing: May 13, 2004
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHELEN BROMWELL (nee WELLS) It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Helen on Thursday, May 13, 2004, at the age of 90. She is lovingly remembered by her husband of 64 years, George, and daughters Val McDonald (Dennis), Judie Velnes (Al Davies), grandchildren Andrew (Karen), Marcia (Jack), Michelle, Shane (Kati), Shelly (Roni), great grandchildren Ryan, Caitlin, Hayley and Gavin. Mom grew up in a large family with six sisters and two brothers. Her sisters and their families were always a very important part of her life. Three sisters, Ada McCallum, Isabelle Coote and Edith Keen (Jim) and many nieces and nephews survive her. Helen married George in 1939 and left her employment at Eatons to become a homemaker. In her younger days she was an expert seamstress, sewing for family and friends. She prided herself on her lovely baking. The family cottage at Barrier Bay was a place to entertain friends and especially enjoy visits from her grandchildren. Mom and dad made many close friends though their association with the Shrine. This also provided the opportunity for the many wonderful trips they took together. Mom was so happy and proud to have all her family and special friends together last June to celebrate her and dads 90th birthdays. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 18, at Glen Lawn Funeral Home. Interment will take place in Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. A gathering of family and friends will follow in the reception centre. The family would like to thank Dr. G.P. Wollner and Dr. A.M. Shojania for their many dedicated years of care. Thank you to the staff of Palliative Care, St. Boniface Hospital for your "comfort care" and friendship during the past several weeks. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Blood Services, 777 William or the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook. " Always loved and forever remembered" Arrangements entrusted to: Glen Lawn Funeral Home 455 Lagimodiere BLVD. 982-7550
