MARY BURAK Mary Burak passed away in Kelowna, BC on May 11, 2004 at the age of 83. Mary was the daughter of Mike and Anne (Lulashnyk) Kucherawy. She was predeceased by her husband Paul on January 1, 2000, sister Pauline Ganczar in 1992 and brother Walter in 1944. Mary and Paul were married in Sifton, MB in 1941 and farmed in the area. Mary later worked at the original Mary Maxim Co. in Sifton. Mary and Paul lived in Dauphin, Thompson, Winnipeg and finally came to Kelowna to be near their daughter. Mary was a long standing member of the Catholic Womens League and enjoyed her many friends at Pius X Roman Catholic Church. She enjoyed travelling, music and her two special canaries. Mary leaves to mourn her passing her daughter Fran and husband Bob Barton of Winfield, BC; grandson Paul (Barb) Barton and their children, Kristen and Lucas of Thompson; grandson Casey (Erin) Barton and son Callum of Oakville, ON. Also surviving are sister Stella Locker of Thompson and brother Jack (Marilyn) Kucherawy of Calgary, AB, many nieces and nephews and a very special niece Deanna Cripps of Edmonton. We wish to thank Dr. Jan McIntosh for his continuous kind and excellent care. Funeral service will be held in Winnipeg on May 18 at 1:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home.
