JOAN JARMAN November 17, 1922 - May 14, 2004 On May 14, 2004, Joan passed away peacefully at the Riverview Health Centre. Joan will be sadly missed by her husband Larry of 60 years; son Rod; daughter Susan; son-in-law Edward; grandchildren, Jordan and Whitney. Joan will also be remembered by her brother Walt, cousin Jean and many friends and family in England. Joan will also be missed by many friends and extended family here in Canada. Joan was born and raised at Wallcrouch, Sussex. She attended school in Ticehurst. During the Second World War she joined the ATS and was attached to ACAC and the radio location division in Wales. In 1942, while on leave, she met Larry at a dance and on April 8, 1944 they married. She came to Winnipeg as a War Bride in March 1946, and was active in the British Wives Club for many years. Joan was a homemaker and for 20 years worked part-time for Jack Andrews Pharmacy. After retirement, she enjoyed golfing and bowling. Joan loved to travel and enjoyed an active social life. God looked at his garden, And found an empty space. He then looked down upon the earth and saw your tired face. He put his arms around you, and lifted you to rest, Gods garden must be beautiful He only takes the best. Flowers are graciously declined, donations may be made in Joans name to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7 or a charity of your choice. Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 18 at St. Chads Anglican Church, 3390 Portage Ave. Rev. Gordon Shields officiating. Reception will follow.
