Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDAVID SOLOMON POLINSKY David Polinsky passed away May 14, 2004, at the age of 87, after several months of declining health. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his beloved wife Betty and his son Sam. Dave will be lovingly remembered by his daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Archie Stone, his grandchildren Mark and Reena Stone and Barry and Erin Stone, his great- grandson Alden, his sister Blumie Portnoy and his brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Phyllis Polinsky. Dave was born and raised in Winnipeg. He was President of City Machinery, Ltd. for over 40 years until retiring in 1992. He was always proud of his family and his heritage, continually giving back to the community in the most humble and dedicated manner. This involvement included the United Way, Combined Jewish Appeal, Jewish National Fund and the Jewish Foundation of Manitoba. All of this came from his desire to ensure that there be greater promise for future generations. Dave enjoyed a wonderful and loving 62 year marriage with his wife Betty. Together they led a very active life. Dave was an avid fisherman, enjoying many fishing trips with friends. He also loved boating with friends and family, especially his grandchildren. He and Betty enjoyed summers at Clearwater Bay and winters in Hawaii and then Palm Springs, where Dave indulged in his other favourite pastimes: tennis and bridge. Dave left everyone with a shining example of how to live life to the fullest. He was always true to himself and his beliefs and willing to do anything for friends and family. He will be greatly missed. The funeral was held on May 17 at Shaarey Zedek Synagogue. The family would like to give special thanks to Daves caregivers, Tobey Little, Ruby Koimaru, Rosie Balingit and Hilda Habig, and also to Lynne Fineman for her valued support. Contributions in Daves memory may be made to the "Dave and Betty Polinsky Fund" of the Jewish Foundation of Manitoba, or to the charity of your choice.
