Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHAROLD WILLIAM (BILL) JOHNSON September 30, 1941 - May, 2004 It is with deep sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our father and grandfather Harold William Johnson at the age of 62. He is lovingly remembered by his three daughters, Arlene Marsh (Ron) of East Selkirk, Sandra MacGean (Mike) of Oakbank, Cynthia McDonald (Dennis) of Winnipeg; their mother Alice Johnson; eight grandchildren, Samantha, Daryl, Tess and Sara McDonald, Camille and Stephanie Marsh and Tanner and Ashley MacGean; his mother Freda Henning; sisters, Betty Rak (Al) of Calgary, Lilja Carson (James) of Winnipeg; his brother Budvar Johnson (Judy) sister-in-law Rowena Johnson; brothers-in-law, Clive and Rennie and numerous other relatives. He was predeceased by his father Thomas Johnson & sister Vera Rennie. Bill was born September 30, 1941 at Portage la Prairie and raised in Langruth, MB, later moving to Winnipeg as a teenager. After high school, he gained employment with the Royal Bank where he met Alice whom he married in 1963. Together, they raised three daughters, Arlene and twin daughters Sandra and Cynthia. After employment with the Royal Bank, he moved to Ford Motor Credit where he rose to Branch Manager and opened a branch in Prince George, BC. In 1972, in partnership he purchased Imperial Motors in Selkirk, MB and later built a new Ford dealership called Steeltown Ford. During this time as President of the company, he won numerous prizes for reaching sales targets and therefore travelled to numerous destinations around the world. He sold the dealership in 1979 and later moved to Calgary where he worked as a sales representative at various dealerships. He had resided in Winnipeg for the last 10 years in retirement. Bill was a warm, friendly, outgoing person who made friends easily and was known for his sense of humour. He enjoyed his weekly 6/49, watching hockey games, news programs and historical documentaries. In accordance with Bills wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 20 at 11:00 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, with Pastor Dave Saude officiating.
