CALVIN HICKS "POPA" Peacefully, after a brief, yet courageous battle with cancer, we announce the passing of our beloved father Calvin Hicks on Saturday, May 15, 2004 at the St. Boniface Hospital. Calvin leaves to mourn daughters, Kristy, Janel (Mark), Bonnie (Gary) and Carla; their mother Ginger; grandchildren, Kelvin (Donna), Jason, Melissa (Glen), Calvin (Jennifer) great-grandchildren, Liam, Marlowe and Ciarah; brother Oliver; sister Norma (Charles) brother-in-law Lloyd. Cal was predeceased by his sister Thelma. Throughout his life Calvin found great joy and fulfilment tending to his lawn and flower gardens. He also shared a deep mutual affection for his dog "Fozzie" whose hospital visits were a real source of comfort to him. A private family funeral was held and Calvin was laid to rest in Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. The family would like to thank the nursing staff on 5E at the St. Boniface Hospital. Their thoughtfulness and compassion was greatly appreciated during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Cal to the Winnipeg Humane Society.
