Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN WATERER Peacefully, surrounded by his family, John Waterer passed away on May 14, 2004, at Stonewall Hospital after a lengthy struggle with emphysema. John was pre-deceased by wife Betty, his parents Leo and Anne and brothers Leonard and Donald. John will be sadly missed, but lovingly remembered by his sister Marcella McKnight; and his children, Catherine (Art), Joan (Vince) and Donald (Lauralea) and his grandchildren Sara, Phoebe Dykstra, Harley, Josi and Sam Normand and Adam and Erin Waterer John was born on February 11, 1919, in Balmoral the son of Leo and Anne Waterer. In 1955 he married Betty Walker and moved to Stonewall where they raised their family and he lived the rest of his life. John loved all aspects of the outdoors and nothing made him happier than his time spent hunting, fishing or digging up wildflowers. His fond memories of these times were a great basis for stories enjoyed by all that knew him. With strength of spirit, self control and sheer determination, Dad managed a life of poor health for the past 30 years. He was a private and proud man and well respected by all that knew him. Family and friends are invited to Stonewall Quarry Park on Thursday, May 20 at 7:00 p.m. to share in memories of his life. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Rosewood Lodge or the Manitoba Lung Association. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall in care of arrangements.
