Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLLOYD CORDINGLEY Born May 11, 1922 - Passed away May 17, 2004 Lloyd Cordingley passed away peacefully after a short but courageous battle with cancer Monday, May 17, 2004. Lloyd was predeceased by his parents, Myrtle and Basil Cordingley; his brother Basil Cordingley; and his sister Doreen Harman. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife Margaret; his daughters, Janet (Roger) Hines, and Betty Moir; his grandchildren, Carla (Jamie) Barnett, Cori Hines, Kellee (Brent) Boisvert and Colin Moir; his great-grandchildren, Jenna, Brendan, Cheyann, Tyler, Airianna, and Michael; his two brothers, Les (Claire) and Ivan (Bernice) Cordingley; his sister Marie (Archie) Peters; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Lloyd spoke fondly of his years in the Air Force abroad and continued his support of the Veterans through a lifetime membership in Legion No. 4. Following the Second World War, Lloyd worked for Ideal Brass, CPR, then as a correctional officer at Headingley Gaol after which he started one of the first parking lot marking businesses in Winnipeg, Cords Park Mark. In his spare time his family and friends benefited by his woodworking craftsmanship. He took great joy in his family, specifically his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They would always bring a smile to his face and he treasured them as they did him. Lloyd and his family spent many weekends at Falcon Lake, Nutimik, and most recently Tall Timber Lodge. He loved building and puttering around the lake and thoroughly enjoyed teaching his children and grandchildren about boating, fishing and the environment. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to either the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Cancer Society. The family wishes to extend sincere thanks and gratitude for the special care given by Dr. Kerr and the nursing staff on H5 at Health Sciences Centre. Honorary pallbearers are Robert Cordingley, Jim Cordingley, Brian Cordingley, Colin Moir, Dennis Glowa, and Bruce Kucey. A service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 21 at Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway, 783-7211. God saw you getting tired so he closed his arms around you and whispered "Come Home" so you can rest Gods Garden must be beautiful - He only takes the "Best".
