NICK VAN DER ZANDE After 90 years and approximately three and one-quarter billion heartbeats, our energetic, hardworking Dad passed away Sunday, May 16, 2004. He will be deeply missed by his children, Frank (Diana), Ria, Elly (Jeremy), Nick (Diane), and John (Shelley) grandchildren, Ian, Greg (Kristina), Linda (Allan), Mark, Justin, Stephen and Jamie; surviving sister Annie-Zuster Ruth; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law; nieces, nephews and longtime friends. Special thanks to Dr. D. Marsh, Ome Harrie and Tante Lena Stroet, Anne Breman, Peter and Audrey Ripstein, Bill and Tini Roelofs and Riki and John Van Osch for their friendship and loving care and concern. Dad was born April 22, 1914 in Hillegom, The Netherlands, and with Mom moved the family to Canada in 1953. He worked mostly in the trucking industry retiring from Pauls Hauling in 1977. He then took up sheep farming and through hard work, determination and with a little help from family and friends did this until the age of 89. In lieu of flowers or donations, Dad, like Mom, would like you to visit someone. Our parents highly valued the visits, phone calls and letters they received from family and friends. Dad will be placed to rest next to Mom at Sunnyside Cemetery. Funeral services, 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 19 at St. Alphonsus Church, Monroe and Brazier.
