DAGNACHEW WEGASSO With profound sadness we announce the untimely death of Dagnachew (Candy) Wegasso, on May 16, 2004 a loving son, husband, father, uncle and friend. Danny was born in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on February 27, 1977. Danny leaves to mourn his loving wife and soul mate Kathy; Dannys greatest joys, his four gifts from God Jordan (Jordy) Aveena (Beauty), Dawit (Dave), Nataniel (Dude) mother Fannye; mother-in-law Nancy; sisters, Zenash, Almaze (Dagu), Tengne (Talahoun) Amsale, Weseney; brothers, Mesle and Solomon; nephews, Yonas, Alazar, Yared; niece Kirsten (Weezy) and friends too many to mention. He was predeceased by his father Gebrmariam. Danny was involved in the Ethiopian community, his greatest talent was to dance and perform for an audience, which he expressed when he performed at Folklorama and the West End Cultural Center. Danny was a vibrant man and so full of life, his out-going personality made it easy for him to make many friends wherever he went. Danny enjoyed a challenge whether it be a game of pool or a game of chess. His wonderful sense of humour, and his ability to make people laugh will be missed by all who knew him. Prayers will be said on Thursday, May 20 at 7:30 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 21 at 10:30 a.m. at The Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo, St. Mary Church, 353 Mountain Ave. Interment to follow in Transcona Cemetery.
