Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERTA ELIZABETH McKAY On Thursday, May 13 at Saint Marys Hospital in Sechelt, BC, Roberta McKay (nee McDougall) passed away in her 92nd year. Roberta was born in Carman, MB, the third child of John and Maggie McDougall. She was predeceased by her sister, Marjorie, and her brother, George. She attended United College in Winnipeg and the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon. After graduation she returned to Manitoba to teach in Sperling, Sanford and Fort Garry. In 1941, she married George McKay and accompanied him to his various Canadian postings while he served in the Air Force, returning to Winnipeg when he was posted overseas. In 1946, Roberta and George moved to Sanford, MB, where she was a contributing member of the Sanford community and the Sanford United Church. In 1989, the couple moved to White Rock, MB, and in 2001 to Gibsons, BC, to be near their daugther. Besides her husband George, Roberta leaves to mourn, her daughter Kathryn Patterson (Jim) her grandchildren Suzanna Bell (Richard), and David Patterson (Cathy) her great-grandchildren Spencer and Kendall Patterson. Roberta will also be missed by her relatives and friends.
