NICK LANDYGO Surrounded by his family and close friends, Nick passed away on Wednesday, May 19, 2004 at 67 years of age. Nick will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 40 years, Audrey, daughter Kathy Manitowich (Terry), son Darryl (Gordana) and their children Kyle and Tianna, son Jason, and daughter Victoria, daughter Sharlene Garlinski (Brad), and Fatima Landygo. He also leaves to mourn his brothers, Peter (Pauline), Bill (Audrey), John (Lynn) and sister Verna Pool (Jim) numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends and his devoted pet Lasha. He was predeceased by his parents Metro and Mary, and his brother Paul. Nick began his career with the rail yard, followed by 31 years of service as a City of Winnipeg Bus Driver where he retired in 1997. He prided himself in growing the best apples from his back yard. In his spare time you could always find him at Garden City Shopping Centre enjoying coffee, and talking to his friends. Most recently you would find him every Saturday night at General Sir Sam Steele Legion playing cribbage, and enjoying the weekly gourmet meals. His greatest joy in his life was his grandchildren. Nick always made himself available to spend time whether it was singing, trying to play video games, picking them up from school, or taking them on secret trips to Salisbury House. Prayers will be said on Friday (tonight), May 21 at 7:00 p.m. at Knysh Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main St. Funeral Rite Service will be sung on Saturday, May 22 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Ivan Suchavsky Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral, 939 Main St., with Rev. Fr. Cornell Zubritsky officiating. Interment to follow at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. Thank you to everyone who visited Nick while he was in the hospital. Special thanks to those who were there for Nick in his final hours, brothers, Peter (Pauline), Bill, sister Verna (Jim), Michael, Raymond and Nicole Landygo, Fatima Landygo, Ollie Kostiuk, Rob, and Marnie Ackerman, Jack, and Raymond Offman, Marty Pacheco, Mark Huckerby and the wonderful staff at the Seven Oaks Hospital. Active pallbearers will be messrs: sons Darryl and Jason, grandson Kyle, sons-in-law Terry Manitowich and Brad Garlinski, godson Nicholas Kostiuk and his adopted son within his heart Marcel Lambert. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Nicks memory to the St. Ivan Suchavsky Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral, 939 Main St., Winnipeg, MB R2W 3P2.
