It is with great sadness and sorrow that we announce her passing. She is already greatly missed. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Don; her six children, Terry (Jeff), Debbie (Ray), Rob (Doreen), Kevin, Karen (Ed) and Donald James (Michelle) her dearly loved grandchildren, Ryan, David, Leah, Krista, Kristin, Melissa, Kerri (Ian), Erin, Chantel; and great-grandchild Julia; her brothers, Marvin (Madeline), Murray (Linda), Laverne (Berdeen), Jack; and many in-laws, nieces and nephews and special longtime family friend Lorne. She was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Leona Cooney; sister Lorraine Schuamacher; brother Fernley; and sister-in-law Doreen. Bernadette was born June 11, 1934 and raised in Saskatoon, SK and came to Winnipeg in 1952. On February 14, 1953 she married Don and they spent 51 years together raising their family with many wonderful memories. Bernadettes loving spirit, endless enthusiasm, boundless support and encouragement, blue eyes, radiant smile and sense of humour will always be remembered. Mom loved spending time with her family and being actively involved in activities in each of their lives. This would include vacations, concerts, movies, special occasions and house renovations. One of her greatest joys was the family dinners and her backyard. She greatly loved all her family and made sure each of us knew it. Mom also treasured her many relationships with others and involvement with the Holy Redeemer Church. She always made herself and home available to others to share in their achievements and disappointments. Mom was very strong and courageous in her challenge with illness and wanted to remain with her family at home as long as she could. The family is very appreciative for all of the support extended to her by many doctors and nurses and to the home care service staff. A Mass of Resurrection will be held at the Holy Redeemer Church, 264 Donwood Dr. on Tuesday, May 25 at 7:00 p.m. presided by Fr. Ray. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Holy Redeemer Memorial Fund. "Our loving fighter, Au Revoir" We Love You KLASSEN Funeral Chapel 1897 Henderson - North of McIvor - 338-0331
