CHARLES DEWAR HAY
Date of Passing: May 18, 2004
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCHARLES DEWAR HAY It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Charles on May 18, 2004 at Victoria General Hospital at the age of 85 years. Charles will be sadly missed by his children, Christopher (Denise), Anthony; and grandchildren, Jennifer and Gregory; and many other family members living in Scotland. Charles was predeceased by his loving wife Helen and daughter Veronica Helen. Dad was born in Musselburgh, Scotland and was the youngest of seven children. During his childhood, Dad was an avid runner. We heard many stories about his running exploits in Scotland. After serving in the British Army, Dad worked with the British Government as an architect where he and the family travelled to Africa and South America. In 1959, the family immigrated to Canada where Dad started his own Architecture business in Kentville, NS. Finally, in 1976, the family moved to Winnipeg where Dad worked for Indian Affairs Canada as Chief Architect. Dad retired from the public service in 1983. Dad showed a lot of courage and perseverance from 1994 to 2004 as he had to deal with surgery that left him without full use of his legs. As he always said, "youve got to make the best of it." A private family service will be held. During Dads short stay at the Victoria Hospital, he always said how well he was cared for by the nurses and our family doctor, Dr. L Hilderman. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Victoria Hospital Foundation. 2340 Pembina Hwy., Winnipeg, MB R3T 2E8. THOMSON "IN THE PARK" FUNERAL HOME AND CEMETERY 1291 McGillivray Blvd. - 925-1120
