HEINZ (HENRY) SCHMIDT Our beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather, at the age of 90, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2004 at the Misericordia Interim Care Facility. Henry was predeceased in 1991 by his beloved wife Maria of 53 years. Left to cherish his memory are son Hart Schmidt (Carolyn), daughter Christa Baleja (Stan) grandchildren, Jim Schmidt (Donna Nilson), Janice Blair (Ken), Jackie Knight, Heather Cherepak (Tim), Susan Baleja (Joel Gagne). Great-grandchildren, Graeme and Madison Knight and Paige Cherepak. He is also survived by his sister Lieselotte Krenzin and nephew Klaus Krenzin and family in Berlin, Germany. Born in Berlin, Germany, he immigrated with his family in 1951 and settled into his career as a Diesel Fuel Injection Pump Technician at Kane Equipment retiring in 1978. He took great pride in his family and his work. The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. David Young and the 5th floor staff at the Misericordia Interim Care Facility. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 27 at 3:00 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 1311 Dakota Street with Pastor Peter Lurvey officiating. Flowers are gratefully declined.
