NOLA FAYE SMALE 1952 - 2004 On May 25, 2004, Nola Smale passed away surrounded by her partner and her family at Womens Pavilion, Winnipeg after a courageous battle with cancer. Nola will be lovingly remembered by her partner George Major, mother Phyllis, siblings Bonnie, Lorna (John) Kazuk, Jimmy, Grant (Donna), Mellissa (Kurt) Proctor, Tamara (David) Boyce, Pamela, Barbra (Tracy Chopek) and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews and friends. Nola was predeceased by her father James in 1994 and her brother Jeffrey in 1970. Nola was born on November 19, 1952 in Portage la Prairie and was educated in Rivers, Winnipeg and Selkirk. Nola was dedicated to her career in the accounting field. Over the years she was employed with Malnar Industries, Johnson Brothers Manufacturing and MS Industrial Refridgeration for 19 years, and most recently at Gaspard and Sons. Nola, also over the years was involved as a Big Sister. Nola took great pride in her cross stitch work, especially those pieces lovingly stitched for family. They will be treasured always. Her love for her family and friends was felt always in the many moments made special by outings with the children in her life and her many special treats that she so meticulously prepared for all. She spent many leisure hours with her nephews and nieces who will always treasure their special memories with her. Nola was a cat lover who cherished her many feline companions over the years. Nola was a very hard working, caring individual who was always lending a helping hand to those in need. She will be lovingly remembered by her relatives with whom she spent many holidays and special times. The family would like to sincerely thank the Drs. Krepart, Lotocki, Heywood and staff at Cancer Care Manitoba and the nursing staff at the Womens Hospital for their kindness and care. Our thanks is also expressed sincerely to the Selkirk EMS for their gentle care. A private family memorial service will be held. If desired, in lieu of flowers, donations will be gratefully accepted by CancerCare Manitoba, 100 Olivia Street, Winnipeg, or the Juvenile Diabetes Association (Manitoba Division), 1101-191 Lombard, Winnipeg, MB R3B 0X1.
