ROY WOYTKO February 12, 1923 - May 24, 2004 Peacefully at home, with his family by his side, Roy Woytko passed away at age 81, following a courageous 14 year battle with cancer. Dad was predeceased by his parents, Anne and Dmytro; sisters, Stephanie Forbes and Mary Chopp. He is survived by his brother Peter Woytko. Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife and angel of 58 years Elsie; daughter April (Michael) McMahon; son Day (Lucille) grandchildren, Erin and Drew; cousins, Stephie Fraser and Walter Konyk; sister-in-law Olga Yaremych; brother-in-law George Feschuk; nieces and nephews and many close dear friends. Dad was born and raised in Winnipeg, attended Lord Nelson High School and went on to receive an Agricultural Diploma from the University of Manitoba. He met the love of his life in 1943 and married Mom on November 24, 1945. At that time, Dad and Mom began a successful and memorable 58 year career in the hotel business that involved co-ownership of the Royal George Hotel, the Hotel Hamilton in Neepawa and the Kildonan Motor Hotel. Dad had always been truly dedicated to his profession. His care and understanding of the customer was rewarded with many close and lifelong friendships. He was a member of the Manitoba Hotel Association for over 50 years and was also a member of the Masons. Dad will always be remembered by his kind and generous nature, his deep devotion to his family and his immense pride in his grandchildren. His most precious memories were when he was surrounded by family and close friends at special occasions over the years. Dad and Mom enjoyed many great times and fond memories of travel with their partners, Bob and Stephanie Forbes, Steve and Anne Harrison, best friend Hamil, and Mary Chopp. At his request, cremation has taken place. A memorial service celebrating Dads life will occur on Monday, May 31, 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., Winnipeg. We are extremely grateful for the care Dad received from Dr. K. Coates, Dr. E. Ramsay, Dr. G. Schroeder and their assistants. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dads memory to CancerCare Manitoba. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
