Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLOUIS TUCKER Louis Tucker was born on October 6, 1917 in Ste. Rose du Lac, MB. He passed away May 25, 2004 at 86 years of age. His early education was in Ste. Rose and Valpoiy. He also took an agricultural course at the St. Norbert Monastery. Louis married Gertrude (nee Desroches) on October 5, 1944 and together they raised two children on a mixed grain and livestock farm north of Ste. Rose. Louis served as councillor for 27 years in the rural municipality of Ste. Rose. In 1979 Louis and Gertie retired from farming and left Ste. Rose to take up residence on the "water" in Petersfield. They enjoyed 20 years then moved to the Knights of Columbus Manor in Selkirk. Louis was predeceased by his brothers, Raymond and Stanley and by three sisters, Sylvia Balcaen, Dora Lussier and Gertrude Lambert. Louis is survived by his wife of 59 years, Gertrude (Desrochers) two children, Mark (Patsy) of Florida and Marie (Richard) of Winnipeg, as well as by grandchildren, Dale, Kolan, Lesley and Mary-Jean. He also leaves to mourn his brother Henry of Winnipeg; sisters, Noellie Monteyne (Joe) and Edna Poulin both of Vernon, BC, as well as many other relatives and friends. Louis believed in the importance of family, the church, hard work and fair play and was an eternal optimist. He will be sadly missed by many. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of ones choice. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 29 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St. Interment at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. A gathering of family and friends will follow in the Glen Eden Reception Centre.
