DONALD FLOYD Suddenly on May 25, 2004 Donald Floyd passed away at his resident. He is survived by his loving wife Shirley of 43 years; sister Donna Gene; son Mark; daughter Janesia; grandson Kyle; granddaughters, Sydney and Kori. Donald was predeceased by his mother Beulah and father Harley. Dad was employed by Agape Table as a cook. He worked numerous years with the Winnipeg Free Press. Donald was proud of his research work with the University of Winnipeg. Dad was a 30 second-degree Master Mason with IONC Lodge No. 25. Dad was a former member of the United States Marine Core; he was also one of the first African Americans to be hired by the Indianapolis Police Department. He enjoyed reading, fishing, and special times with his wife. The family would like to thank the Medical Examiners Office, the members of the Winnipeg Police Department for their compassion shown during these difficult circumstances. Funeral service will be held on Monday, May 31 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, followed by a private family interment. Pastor Jim Poirier officiating.
