DARLENE PATSY MARY ANDERSON (nee YAKIWCHUK) After a very courageous battle with cancer, with her family by her side, Darlene passed away at the Grace General Hospital on Friday, May 28, 2004 at the age of 55. Darlene was predeceased by her mother Mary, and father John. Darlene will be dearly missed by her devoted husband of 31 years, Dave; daughter Brenlee (Dave Sangster), son Cory (Jackie Kowalick) her grandchildren, Sydni, Kelsey, Kamara, Zoe and Tuesday, which were her pride and joy; and Daves sons Greg, Derek, Bentley, and daughter Kim. Darlene also leaves to mourn her brother Raymond (Joanie) Soroka, niece Stephanie, and nephew Stephen; her special friend Sharon; and numerous other family and friends. Darlene was born in Winnipeg and graduated from St. Johns High School. After a brief career at Canadian Linen, where she met Dave, Darlene settled into the Scotia Bank Data Center until the change to CIBC, where she worked until last year. She was an avid member of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church and the Ladies League. Darlenes love was to spend time with her family, making sure everything was just perfect, always putting us first and being our backbone and strength. We express our grateful thanks to all the wonderful Doctors and staff at CancerCare and the Grace Hospital. We love you Darlene. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 1, 10:00 a.m. at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, 737 Bannerman Ave. Interment to follow at Holy Family Cemetery.
