THEODORE (TED) PHILIP MOZOL 1932 - 2004 It is with great sorrow, the family announces the sudden passing of Ted on Friday, May 28, 2004. Ted was predeceased by his parents, Dmytro and Mary; and his sister Rose Schurko. He leaves to mourn his beloved wife Mary, of 46 years, son Ron, daughter Cindy, and his little buddy "Dusty". He is also survived by sisters, Phyllis (Gordon) Clarke and Irene Thompson of California; many sisters and brothers-in-law; numerous nieces and nephews; and lots of friends. Ted was born, March 9, 1932. He was employed by Canada Post for 35 years, retiring in 1988; the last 15 years as the postal station manager in Transcona. After retirement, he worked part-time as a driver for Adesa (Winnipeg, Auto Auction). He would always tell his family and friends stories about the "Auction". Ted liked being a manager of his sons hockey and soccer teams. He was especially proud to be the manager of the North Kildonan Community Club Cobras Soccer Team that went to the North American Championships in 1977. Ted loved meeting the "gang" at the Curtis Hotel. He was a proud member of the Royal Canadian 215 Legion. He would go daily to the Legion for a few beers. One of Dads last wishes was to see his friends at the Legion the day before he left us. Ted enjoyed playing cards, berry and mushroom picking, working in his garden and especially fishing. Dads strength of character showed in the way he dealt with his brief illness. He accepted all the challenges presented to him. Dad was a model of courage and had a positive attitude. He never wanted to be a burden on anybody. Dad was very brave and heroic in his last few weeks, as he didnt want anybody helping him out as he struggled to get around. In the end, it was Dads "big, strong" heart that weakened. The family would like to thank our family doctor Dr. W. Manishen, Dr. N. MacEachern who performed the lung surgery, Dr. N. Ahmed and all the staff at CancerCare. A special thanks to the Winnipeg Fire and Paramedics and the Concordia Hospital emergency staff. Prayers will be held Wednesday, June 2, 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Funeral service will be held Thursday, June 3, 10:00 a.m., at Cropo Funeral Chapel, with Rt. Rev. Mitrat Michael Buyachok officiating. Interment to follow at All Saints Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Teds nephews, Richard Clarke, Brent Schurko, Gary Podolsky, Leonard Buchko, Mark Melnychuk and Gerald Gierys. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9, or the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301-352 Donald St, Winnipeg, MB R3B 2H8. "Dad, may you rest peacefully by that big lake in the sky." As you used to say, "To The Fish. I hope youve found the good spots by now, "Catch a Big One". CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
