JENNIE IRMA McMAHON (nee STEELE) Peacefully on Saturday, May 29, 2004 at Victoria General Hospital, Jennie passed away at the age of 98. Born in Parry Sound, ON on July 19, 1905, she moved to Saskatchewan with her family as a child. She married Orville McMahon in Winnipeg on March 17, 1925. They farmed in Roland, MB area before moving to Winnipeg in 1939. Jennie was a longtime member of Grey Street United Church and enjoyed many activities with the Seniors Group. She also enjoyed making quilts, needlepoint and gardening. She was predeceased by her husband Orville in 1972, daughter Dorothy, 1996, son Barnet, 1996, and daughter Elizabeth (Elsie) in 2003. Jennie is survived by sons, James (Betty) of Winnipeg, Don of Salt Springs Island, BC, and Gordon of Edmonton, AB; eleven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. A special thank you to the staff at Vista Park Lodge Nursing Home and the Victoria General Hospital for their care of and devotion to Jennie. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 3 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., officiated by Rev. Glen Morrison. We will miss you, Mom and Grandma. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimers Society, 10-120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2.
