JEAN PEARL SUTHERLAND December 27, 1936 - May 29, 2004 With joy and peace I announce the passing of my loving wife of 48 and a half years. Jean Pearl Sutherland, of Peguis, who went home to be with Jesus on May 29, 2004 at the age of 67 years. At home, her angels, grandchildren and family were by her side. Jean leaves to mourn, her husband Bill; son Alvin; daughters, Irene and Jeannie; grandchildren, Little Alvin and Able (Baby Moose), who lived with her, John, Josh, Brandy, Danny, Holly and Joel. Jean will be remembered by her brothers, Robert Bear, Lloyd (Annie) Bear, Colin (Linda) Williams and Oliver - Roach Williams; sisters, Garda (Eb) Sutherland, Gladys (Maurice) Sutherland and Maude Sinclair; stepsisters, Priscilla Cook and Mable (Alex) Sinclair; also numerous nieces, nephews, family members and friends. Jean was predeceased by her father Lawrence Bear; her mother Pearl Williams; stepfather Joe Williams; brother Howard Bear; sisters-in-law, Edith Bear, Marjorie Sutherland and Nadia Burrows; brother-in-law Ronald Sinclair; nephews, Tony Bear and John Bird; niece Pearlie Sinclair; and her special and best friend Irene Bear. Auntie Jean taught all who were with her during the years to love and respect one another, and to always do your best. She loved to dance, pick rice, joke around, play bingo, go camping, journaling and to go for evening rides with her honey, also daily Bible devotions. Her favourite color was green because it symbolized growth, and a new beginning. She appreciated her home and yard with her beautiful flowers. Auntie Jean was a hard and dedicated worker throughout all her working days. Jean was the first woman in Peguis to join AA. Through her courage and strength, she was able to help many other women. God grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change, Courage to change the things I can and the Wisdom to know the difference. The family wishes to express a special thank you to: Dr. Andreas and the staff at the Percy E. Moore Hospital, Ed and Anna Marie Prince, Peguis Home Care, Sharol Kohoko, Elsie Flett, Irvin and Dolly Wilson, Manitoba Cancer Care, Pastor Hill, Dr. Lezak, Rev. Barry and Freda Bear, Peguis AL CARE, Peguis Chief and Council, Peguis School Board, and especially Imes (Baby), who was there taking loving care of Jean to the end. Thank you. Wake services will be held on Tuesday, June 1, 2004 at 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, June 2 at 8:00 p.m. at the Peguis Church, Peguis, MB. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 3 at 2:00 p.m. with viewing from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. at the Peguis Community Hall. Interment will follow at St. Peters Cemetery. Angels east, Angels west, Angels guard me as I rest. (Able: Baby Moose) Arrangements Entrusted To: ANDERSON FAMILY FUNERAL HOME Ashern, Manitoba 1-204-768-3606
