PAUL KEMPA July 20, 1921 - May 30, 2004 Suddenly on Sunday, May 30, 2004 at the age of 82 years, Paul Kempa passed away. Paul was predeceased by his parents Andrew and Katherina; brothers, Bill, John, Mike and Peter; sister Mary; brothers-in-law, Steve and Norman; sister-in-law Catherine. Paul is survived by his loving wife Bella; son David (Rosemarie) stepson Greg (Lynn), Keith (Susan), and their families; brothers, Steve (Evelyn), Joe (Ruth), Alex (Marie) sisters, Ruth and Stella (Ron) sisters-in-law, Naida, Kay and Stephanie. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and cousins. Paul was born July 20, 1921 on the family homestead in Chatfield, MB. One of eleven children, he attended Wheathill School. In his early years, besides working on the family farm, he worked with thrashing gangs, logging camps, and construction. In 1972 he married Bella Wasilenchuk, and he continued to work hard on the farm until 1994 when for health reasons he slowed down. However, Paul remained an important member of the farm with his knowledge and insight until his death. Paul was very much a family man, he loved living and immensely enjoyed visiting with family and friends, he always had a story about the old days. Paul was a devout Witness and will be sadly missed by many spiritual brothers and sisters. At his request cremation will take place and a memorial service will be held Thursday, June 3, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the Chatfield Community Hall, with Mr. Tom Read officiating. Special thanks to Arborg EMS, Dr. Greyvenstein and the Nurses at the Arborg Hospital for their efforts and kindness. If friends so desire, donations may be made to a charity of ones choice. Arborg (MacKenzie) Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
