BEATRIZ VAZ (nee da CUNHA) 1912 - 2004 On Sunday, May 30, 2004, at the age of 92, and with her family by her side, Beatriz passed away peacefully. She was predeceased by her husband Sebastiao; and is survived by her children, Fernando (Diane), Lionel (Maria), Maria, Alcina, Evangelista, and Ilda. She will also be sadly missed by all her 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren who were lucky enough to have such a wonderful grandmother and great-grandmother in their lives. Beatriz was born on January 15, 1912, in a small town in northern Portugal. She immigrated to Canada in the early 1970s with her husband, and made a home here in Winnipeg. Beatriz loved her time in Canada, as it brought her closer to her family and friends. She will always be remembered for her kindness, sense of humour, and strong faith in God. Beatriz was a caring wife, mother and grandmother, and a wonderful friend to many. A heartfelt thank you to the staff, and residents of the fourth floor of the Central Park Lodge who were always kind, patient and loving with Beatriz and her family. We will never forget your kindness. We had many wonderful years with you, and know that God blesses you now, as you join the rest of the family in heaven. We will miss you very much and think of you always in our hearts and prayers forever. We love you Mae, Avo, Visavo. "Deus te deia eterno descanso." Prayers will be held on Wednesday, June 2, at 9:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 3, at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 181 Austin St. with Rev. Fr. Jose Eduardo Medeiros officiating. Interment to follow at the Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Ave. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
