Offer Condolences or MemorySARAH "SALLY" WIENS (FUNK) (nee FROESE) June 5, 1926 - May 28, 2004 Born in Lowe Farm, MB, and grew up in the Grunthal area. Sally is predeceased by her two husbands, John Funk (1962) and Jacob Wiens (1973) one sister Margaret June Doerksen (1989) her mother Elizabeth Doerksen; and her great-granddaughter Channel Giles. She is survived by her son Ronald John Funk; her daughter Lorna Elaine Welz (Ernest David Welz) her son Lionel Wayne Funk (Charles Robert Johnson) her grandson James David Welz (Theresa Welz) her granddaughter Monica Lorna Giles (Christopher James Giles) her great-grandchildren, Shawn Felix Welz, David James Welz, Gavius James Giles and Jude Sebastian Giles; her brothers and sisters, Justina Dueck, Susana Anne Radwanski, Mary Swain, Peter Doerksen, Edward Doerksen, George Doerksen and Johnny Doerksen; and also survived by extended family. Sally put herself through school and was involved in many endeavours including as a beautician, a nurses aide from Selkirk, MB, an occupational therapist, took life skills coach training at the University of Manitoba, and a car clinic certificate course. Sally also initiated programs for independent living. Sally was active in the community and loved Bethel Place. She also loved flowers, arts and crafts, music, porcelain dolls, puzzle solving and visiting with her friends and relatives. She had a knack for teaching people how to enjoy the simple things in life. The world will be a sadder place without her. Viewing will take place on Wednesday, June 2, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 3, at 10:30 a.m. at Bethel Mennonite Church, 870 Carter Ave. Interment at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens, with reception to follow at the church.
