LINDA MAE KUFUS It is with profound sadness the family announces the passing of our daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and niece, Linda Mae Kufus aged 49 years of Selkirk, MB, formerly of Ashern, MB, on June 1, 2004 at the St. Boniface Hospital. Linda was born March 7, 1955 and lived most of her life in the Ashern area, and then moved to Selkirk, MB for the last 5 years. She worked at Manitoba Natural Resources and Conservation at Watchorn Bay and Birds Hill Provincial Park from May 10, 1979 until her passing. She had a great love for the wilderness and the outdoors. She found great pleasure in her work and loved her surroundings. Linda was a very family-oriented person and made special time for her loved ones, and was a great listener. She was a very proud mother and grandmother and made it well known. She was very proud of her grandchildren Jordyn and Brooklyn. Linda was a very intelligent person and had a wild sense of humour which was uplifting and brought joy to us all. She enjoyed playing cards with her many friends, camping, watching soap operas and playing bingo. She had a sixth sense for finding four-leaf clovers for good luck. She will be sadly missed by her parents, Mary and John Cook; her children, Vicki Walsh, twins Amanda and Michael Kufus; grandchildren, Jordyn and Brooklyn; her husband Len Kufus; brothers and sisters, Joanne Glass (Cameron), Carole-Anne Cook, Steve Cook (Rianne) special friend Derek; and her aunt Agnes Roy; also many nieces, nephews and other family members. Linda was predeceased by her grandparents Mary McKelvey (nee Broustal) on April 25, 1980, Joseph McKelvey on June 28, 1993, Mary Charlotte Cook (nee Ormes) on March 24, 1974, Michael Cook on June 23, 1963 and uncle Richard McKelvey on September 20, 1992. Cremation has taken place and a funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 6 at 2:00 p.m. in the Ashern Centennial Hall with Pastor Bill Watson officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Bonwick, Rob Mauthe, Andy Szukiewicz, Al Hochbaum, Randy Anderson and Tim Jones. A heartfelt thank you to St. Boniface Hospital, Manitoba Conservation and Natural Resources, Glen Arnason and staff, Dr. Lotocki and staff members, especially great friend Brenda Roy for all the loving care given in this time of need. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot, Room 0N109, Winnipeg, MB. Arrangements by ARNASON FUNERAL HOMES LTD. Ashern - Lundar (204) 768-2072
