ALAIN SABOURIN July 21, 1948 - June 1, 2004 It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of their beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Alain Sabourin on Tuesday, June 1, 2004. Alain was predeceased by his mother Louise (nee Cote) his father Alexandre; his father-in-law Francois Desautels; and his nephew Marcel Duval. Alain leaves to cherish his many memories, his wife of 33 years Denise; his children, Linette (Claude) Saelens, Suzanne, Joey; his three grandchildren, Devon, Christine, Dylan; his mother-in-law Aurore Desautels; his three brothers, Robert (Yvette), Marcel (Louise), Ivon (Pat) his six sisters, Yvette (Fernand) Guay, Olive (Maurice) Fontaine, Evelyn (Maurice) Gregoire, Noella (Robert) King, Therese (Dan) Touchette, Pauline (Roger) Gagnon; as well as numerous nieces, nephew and friends. Alain grew up in St. Jean Baptiste. In 1971 he met and married the love of his life Denise. Together they started their home in Winnipeg, where they raised their three children. In 1985 he co-founded Hillary Production Machining, which he continued to run up until his passing. Alain enjoyed carpentry and woodworking. He fulfilled his dream in 1998 by building his family home in Ile Des Chenes. Alain had a special place in the hearts of his family and friends. He will be sadly missed by all. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 5, 2004 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (south of the Royal Canadian Mint). A private family interment will take place in Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens at a later date. The family would like to express their thanks to the Oncology Department at St. Boniface Hospital, especially Dr. Ralph Wong and his staff; as well as the staff at the St. Annes Hospital for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba.   • I have fond memories of Alain in High school. Teacher slapt his hand with a ruler He said a two by four would hurt more. I will no say what happened next. Week end note at the file or dam.
